Where can I check the status of my order?
         The first step is to get in contact with us, either by using the contact form [link] or to call us [number].  We will then give you further instructions as to how to send us a return.


Why can't I see the anything except the link and the number of item I selected?

Hobbyspeed .com uses a CSS (cascading style sheet) to control the look and feel of the web site.  An older generation browser (lower than IE 5.0 or Netscape 5.0 ) might not correctly interpret the style sheet.


I want to add a second item, how do I do this?  

You can leave the shopping cart, and head back to any section of the web site by selecting any one of the navigation tabs at the top, or by clicking your browsers back button. Once you've found a product you like, add it to the cart by simply clicking the 'order' button.  You will be directed back to the shopping cart, where your newly ordered item will be added to your existing cart.

With some of the technology Hobbyspeed .com uses to create each shopping cart, we need to clean up our system every 30 minutes.


While in the shopping cart, when I press the back button, or the refresh button, it asks me something about 'posting' data again, what is this and what should I do?

Hobbyspeed .com uses forms to collect data during the checkout process.  To continue using the form, click the 'yes' button when the prompt is displayed on the screen.  There should not be any loss of data when you are returned to the previous page.  If you have problems using the shopping cart, please call 724-465-4921 or 724-465-4924 and we will try to help you through the process.


Why do you need my telephone number?

Hobbyspeed .com would like your telephone number in the event that something would go wrong with your order, we would be able to contact you through a phone call.


Why do you need my email address?  

When you place an order, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address your provided.     This email will NOT include information such as credit card information (number,expiration,security code, ect .).    The email will include both addresses for billing and shipping, as well as the items, and the total amount of your purchase.    We also use your email address to send you information (if you specified you like to receive it during checkout).  These information based email will happen no more than once a month, and no more than 10 times a year.


I received an informational email from offers@hobbyspeed.com , how do I remove myself from the mailing list?   

You can simply send an email to offers@hobbyspeed.com with a subject line remove - your email address.  We will remove you from our mailing list within 7 business days.


How do I pay for an auction?  

On Ebay (r) we sell some new, and some used items.  To pay for an auction, please click auction on the top of your screen (near the trains tab).   The ebay next screen will then ask for your ebay number, as well as your Ebay handle.  If you are just using Hobbyspeed .com to pay for an auction, the shipping cost will  not be included when your get your final total.  This amount will be added on when the order is processed.


 Do you process my credit card immediately, when I once my order?  

No.  Hobbyspeed .com will only process your credit card when the items are ready to ship.  All credit cards are run at our store locations in Indiana PA.  No credit cards are run online.


Why can't I edit the items in my cart after I've started the check out process?   

You can.  At anytime during the checkout, you can click shopping cart, on the upper right hand corner of your screen and get back to your shopping cart.  This will allow you to edit the quantities, as well as look around the site, and add things.  The only side effect of going back to the shopping cart, is that you will loose your progress.  For example, if you had already completed the address information, and decided to go back to the shopping cart, you will lose all the information previously entered.  Hobbyspeed .com does not track, not store any personal information about the users, until an order is actually places.  This is a security feature to keep our customers safe.


What is a 'security code'?  

The security code is a three (3) digit number on the back of your credit/debit card that is another step in insuring that you are actually the one placing the order.  You can find where this number is located by clicking here.


Is my information secure when I place an order?   

Yes!  Hobbyspeed .com has taken measures to ensure that your information is secure throughout the entire checkout process.  The shopping cart itself secured using 128bit SSL encryption for information transmission, as well as using the latest in encryption methods to secure your information once the submission has been completed.  If you are still unsure about the security of the site, please feel free to ask questions by using this contact form, or call us at 724-465-4921 or 724-465-4924.


Can I place a phone order?   

Yes.  Although we would like to remind you that Hobbyspeed .com is secure, we would like to offer the availability of calling in an order, during our business hours.  Please click here for more information.


I want to save my cart for a later time, can I do this? Currently no.  Hobbyspeed .com does not allow for a user to create an account for ordering purposes.  We do plan however, to develop the site in the future to give our customers this option. 
Can I send something to a different address than my billing address?
     Yes!  When you check out, just fill out the section below the billing information.  You are not required to fill this out when you place an order, but if you need to ship to an alternate address, then you can fill out the bottom portion of the form.
How is shipping calculated?

I was charged for sales tax, why?

  If  you are a resident in Pennsylvania, we are required to charge you sales tax (6%).  This tax is based on the amount of the sale before shipping is added.  If you have a tax exemption number, please contact Hobbyspeed .com by phone at 724-465-4921 or 724-465-4924 to change your order.
What shipping carriers do you use?

   We currently use either USPS, or FedEx.
Do you ship internationally?

  Yes, for most items.  If you are buying rocket motors, we are limited to shipping these items to within the US, due to the flammability of the product.  Otherwise, we ship all other items to most places in the world.
